Yes, I realize they are NOT the same brand, however, I also maintain expert consumer knowledge and can tell you the prices are the same across the board when it comes to brands.
If you have small kiddos and were in college in the early/mid 2000’s, munching on munchies, then you also remember the price of a large carton of Goldfish. Pre-Covid carton size.
Not this current, half ass carton they pretend to pass off as the same in 2005.
A full on big carton was $3.99. Then it was $5. Then they were $7. Now, at Walmart, because I will NEVER be too good to pay their prices, a COVID carton of regular Goldfish is $9 and some change.
Let me translate this to the declining Real Estate Market for the past few years.
People ask, why the market is slow? What is going on with the market?
I often think.
Goldfish.
Grocery prices. Gas Prices. Insurance prices.
INFLATION has eaten up a lot of the consumer’s saving’s pool. The money that used to go toward saving for a downpayment is now going to feed your family. To fill your car up with gas to get to the job that IS NOT keeping up with the inflation.
So when Sellers say,”Hey Jess, I want to list my home,” I am honest with them.
Yes, I would LOVE to list and we WILL LIST! However, we have to be real about our list price. Unless you have a brand new build, which, for the past 3 years have been the Cat’s MEEEOOOWWW; we have to get on board with a REAL discussion on price.
In June of 2021, in Texas, we had 42,267 active listings, this June, of 2026, we have 150,469.
Ladies and Gentlemen, that is a big jump!
A correction is happening. Look at the data. You either get on board or wait it out. There are programs that are coming but have not been voted on yet to start some movement. As we wait patiently for those, call me and let’s chat!
